finished Setiva decided it was her turn. He was yet standing behind the camera when she walked onto the set up and would stop and hold pefectly still. Jason would take a picture or two. Then she’d move and strike another pose. In total there are about six or so pictures to this series. Each one showing a different side of Setiva.

I don’t know what made her do half on what she did. She made herself so much a part of my life that to see her every day made me feel so good.

Setiva became ill just previous to her sixth birthday. We don’t know what it was that made her so ill, her doctor seemed to think it was some type of toxin. No matter what we tried, nothing worked. I had never felt so helpless as in dealing with her illness. Right up to the last she stayed her sweet self. I miss her so much. Jason and I still cry when we talk about her. Not long after she left us I was e-telling one of my clients how of my day was spent thinking of her, looking for her to spring upon my desk and get to work and how sometimes I was talking to myself as though she was still sitting atop my computer. Karen, my client, encouraged me to consider another cat. She reminded me that there were so many homeless cats that it was my duty to provide one of them a home.

Not long after, Jason and I went over to the SPCA cattery and spent an early afternoon looking and we found Poppy. Poppy was four years old and had been given up because she was pregnant. Just set out like a bag of garbage. We felt she was going to be very lovable. Of course, bringing her home was a different matter. The trip really freaked her. She was out of the carrier and under the bed so fast I didn’t see it happen. She wasn’t coming out so Jason went under the bed and brought her out. It has been slow going with her and it’s taken the better part of two years to show her how a "loved cat" lives. Now she loves it when Jason picks her up. As for me, she is my shadow, she loves a squishy hug she has turned out to be a very affectionate cat.

I still wanted another orange tabby and Marlene, my dear friend, called me from a local pet store to tell me that she had found an orange female kitten. I was at the pet store within 30 minutes. Yes, truly there was an orange tabby female kitten. The same as but different from Setiva. I waited a week to pick her up. I had everything ready for my new kitten.

From the time I brought her home she has been awesome. She talks to me all the time, hence the name...Krickit. She is curious and truly has a braveheart. She likes my sister’s

dogs and she and Poppy are good friends. They have several runs up and down the hall, around the kitchen and into the living room on a daily basis. They play well together. Indica is more reserved with Kricket but Krickit isn’t taking “no” for an answer, she persists. Indica has come along way, she quit spitting at Krickit and Krickit takes that as a positive sign. She’s bound and determined to win her over!

This last semester I enrolled in a computer class and part of the assignment was to compose 4 to 5 pages for a web site. It had to be about a university/college, real or imagined. I decided to do my project on a cat university. I had so much fun with it that I decided to open up a web site for my cats and friends' cats, any one wanting to share photos and stories about their cat friends.

My pages are about my two cats, the Divine Ms. P, Poppy, and the Amazing Krickit. Hope you enjoy. If you have anything to add please, go to the contact page for submission information.

Talk later,

Charlie
